For the setup, you’ll need:

  • The Host: This is the link at the top of the page when you click on PBX Dashboard or your account code.
  • User ID: This is the extension number you created.
  • Password: This was auto-generated when you created the extension. Feel free to change it to something more memorable. Don’t forget to save after every change.

Softphones: The Future of Telephony

A softphone is a software version of a telephone that allows you to make and receive calls through your computer or smartphone. Popular options include Xlite and Zoiper. This guide will focus on setting up a softphone on a Windows PC.

Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up Zoiper

Step 1: Download Zoiper Visit www.zoiper.com and click on the download button. Select the Windows option (or the one that corresponds to your device).

Step 2: Install and Open Zoiper: After downloading, install and open the Zoiper application. Choose ‘Continue as Free User’. The free version of Zoiper suffices for basic calling functionalities.

Step 3: Add Your Extension In the Zoiper app, input the extension you’ve created in your PBX as the username, then enter the associated password.

Step 4: Finalize the Setup Allow some time for the extension to register. Successful registration is indicated by a green bar under SIP UDP, meaning that your account is now active and registered.

Congratulations! Your extension is now fully set up on Zoiper, ready to make and receive calls.
